Ipswich River Pool House

(2013) The design of the pool house evolved dramatically from a formal garden structure to a more organic design featuring the use of many natural, wood, stone and timber materials.  The space easily accommodates large groups or a single swimmer and includes a full service kitchen and bar with a retractable overhead door as well as a laundry room and guest bathroom with an adjacent outdoor shower.  Reclaimed and local materials are used throughout to enhance the relationship of the structure to the natural woodlot setting.

New England Home May/June 2015
The editors at New England Home Magazine feature an extraordinary pool house, designed by architect, Robert S. MacNeille, AIA and built by the team at C&M.  Set on the grounds of a classic 18th century gambrel farmhouse, the Ipswich River Pool House is truly the epitome of elegant outdoor living in New England.  The house includes a full scale custom kitchen made from reclaimed oak with a vibrant green finish, a well-appointed guest bathroom with adjacent outdoor shower and a massive central stone fireplace topped by an antique granite pier salvaged from the Merrimac River in Newburyport, MA.
