Residential Interior Designer

We are seeking a full-time Residential Interior Designer with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience to join our award-winning, integrated architecture and construction firm.  The ideal candidate has exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills, is meticulous with details and enjoys collaborating in a team environment. They will also work independently with confidence, have a passion for design excellence, great leadership qualities and excellent communication skills. Candidates will work directly with the Design Principals and a larger team to manage and lead projects.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and bonus structure, plus PTO, health and retirement benefit options. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate design concepts and functional requirements of a project from initial meeting through construction
  • Draft floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and renderings in ArchiCAD
  • Manage and follow up on progress of work throughout all phases of design, fabrication, construction, and final installation:
      • Initial client meeting, site measuring, and project documentation
      • Perform Schematic Design including programming and layout of spaces
      • Perform Design Development including detailed plans and development of interior architecture
      • In collaboration with the architectural team, assist with permit sets, construction documents, finish schedules and furniture plans. Create detailed interior elevations, millwork and cabinetry details, fixture and finish specifications
      • Perform Construction Administration including reviewing submittals (creating shop drawings, receiving product data, and samples), oversee on-site installation of fixtures and finishes, and coordinate with Project Manager and Site Supervisor to ensure overall design intent execution
  • Meet with clients and consultants; travel to and from job sites, vendors and showrooms as required
  • Complete drawings for custom furniture or millwork
  • Create client presentations, including detailed tear sheets, mood boards, and finishes presentations
  • Generate, create and manage FF&E schedules and budgets including sourcing and specifying furniture, furnishings, and lighting and design custom furniture in collaboration with in-house Woodworking shop
  • Track and coordinate installation of all furniture and furnishings
  • Prep, style, and oversee photoshoots in partnership with Marketing Department

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Interior Design Certified Program
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of professional working experience, preferably in Residential field
  • Expertise in a BIM CAD program ArchiCAD preferable, Adobe Photoshop, Bluebeam Revu and the Microsoft Suite
  • Deep knowledge of the design process and available resources, including custom millwork and cabinetry, construction, specifications, colors and materials
  • Exceptional level of attention to detail and a mastery of organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency at sourcing items online and in showrooms
  • Experience working with contractors on-site
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Personality that thrives in a very close-knit team setting; excellent interpersonal skills and exemplary customer service sensibilities
  • Highly-refined design sense aligned with the C&M brand aesthetic, including an understanding of Classical Architecture as well as current industry trends
