Chris Roe

Wood Shop Supervisor - Essex

Chris Roe grew up on a dairy farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with 7 brothers and sisters, and through these childhood experiences, learned and cultivated his ethics along with the values of hard work and dedication. Right out of high school in the early 1970s, he worked with builders over the course of the next 10 years renovating custom colonial homes. Chris moved from Maryland to Gloucester in 1983 and continued building custom homes before joining C&M in January, 2000. In progressing from Job Site Supervisor to Woodshop Supervisor, he finds that making custom cabinetry, furniture, and millwork nourishes his love of geometry, problem solving, and working with his hands. In his Gloucester home with his wife, the interior designer Joanne Hurd, he continues to delve into renovation projects that the two of them laughingly claim will never cease. He enjoys kayaking, hiking, traveling, and playing in his home wood shop.
