Annisquam Cedar Shingle
The architectural design and construction of this 21st century coastal residence was completed by the firm in mid-2021. Designed with red cedar shingles, clapboards and stone veneer, the residence was carefully sited to take full advantage of the property’s stunning seaside location, while ensuring the neighboring homes retained their ocean views.
With its proximity to the ocean, this project was built with state-of-the-art energy efficiency in mind. The objective was to design the home with optimal sustainability, and concurrently work with nature to optimize interior light. By using triple pane windows, continuous exterior insulation, and extreme attention to energy efficient design and sustainability, the home provides a wonderfully quiet interior environment that can easily withstand extreme New England weather patterns. Additionally, classic exterior details and deeper roof overhangs extend the life of materials while providing excellent solar protection.
The skylight centered in the core of the house above the staircase brings abundant natural light deep into the the home’s semi-open concept.
