Copper Beech Cottage

This 19th century stick-style cottage received an extensive renovation to modernize and update the space while honoring its historic heritage. The home’s exterior was completely reconstructed and expanded, restoring long-lost elements like the front porch and dormers, with historically appropriate details including unique saw-tooth vertical siding and decorative rafter ends.  Inside, a fully reconfigured floor plan includes an expanded historic main staircase leading to an enlarged second-floor hallway which provides a new, light-filled space, more conducive to today’s modern living.  Other interior features include a comfortable family room with brightly painted beadboard ceiling, a new modern country kitchen and restored original glass French doors, once again opening to the newly replicated front porch.  While the house is almost entirely new, it was sensitively designed and built with old-world craftsmanship to restore and expand its history as one of the early homes in this sea-side town.
