Gentleman's Farm
Sited on over four acres, this reproduction Colonial Farmhouse was sensitively restored and expanded to meet the needs of a twenty-first-century family. The main house was transformed to improve the overall living space while maintaining and enhancing the home’s farmhouse vernacular. Upstairs, a new primary suite, guest room, home office, and gym provide spacious, up-to-date living areas. Downstairs, an expansive new kitchen, dining, and family room provide charming, updated entertaining spaces, perfectly suited for frequent family gatherings. Period trim and warm wooden beams reinforce the home’s character and implied history, while two new mudrooms, a lovely screened-in porch, and a new, two-car garage create easy indoor-outdoor transitions throughout the seasons. While the home exudes a rich historic character, as if added onto over time, it is designed with modern, state-of-the-art systems including geothermal heat pumps and a solar array.
Together with the main house, the program also includes four outbuildings: a renovated guest cottage, a new pool house, an updated barn, and a woodshop. While mostly new, the buildings, and the redesigned landscape, appear to have lived for generations, further enhancing the property’s extraordinary character and charm.
