C&M was contacted by long-time clients to design the interiors of this four-story 1834 antique soon after they purchased the recently renovated residence. The goal was to create comfortable living and entertaining spaces suited for a contemporary family using a patina that honored the home’s historic interior architecture and 1830s aesthetic. Wide honey floors and a collection of maritime artworks influenced the palette while antique rugs, textural sisals, and vintage rattan express the homeowner’s love of classic design. Today, the updated interiors reflect a classically updated historic home, passed down and carefully cared for through the generations.
